Country Music Magazines: Country Music May 93 and Country's Hot Shots

Mom had two copies of this magazine in her stack of Country music magazines.  I bought one of them for her for Mother's Day.  Dad must have bought the other.  We obviously didn't coordinate well.  Little wonder we picked it up, it featured her favorite, Dwight Yoakam, on the cover.

There are several interviews with DY in these magazines.  He was promoting his new album and some movie projects at the time, so he was all over the magazine rack for a couple of years.  Frankly, nothing was said that you probably need to read.  (I say that even as a fan myself.)  It was a bit depressing seeing mostly the same people being interviewed and saying the same things over-and-over again in this stack of magazines.  The marketing business is a bit nauseating.

Once again, I can't resist scanning Minnie Pearl.  They used to make collector's plates out of everything.  Do they still make collector's plates?

Trisha Yearwood looks pretty good here in this ad.  She would later go on to be Mrs. Garth Brooks.

Here's another one with Billy Ray Cyrus.  He was really hot (media-wise) at the time.  That hair style is glamorous, but hasn't aged well.

There's those pants that made the women scream.

Here's a nice long-haired picture of Martina McBride.
