 Here's a dashing Elvis in uniform meeting some actual princesses.  

Elvis lost his mom shortly after entering the military.  He took it very hard.  Some say this was what led to his indulgences later in life.

Here's an interview with Dolores Hart, one of Elvis' co-stars in two of his films.  Unlike several of his other co-stars, they did not have a romance.  Probably not coincidentally, she became a nun in the early 60's.
