Artifacts: World Calendar pics

Here's some pictures from a calendar I received in the mail from a charity.  I literally can't believe the number of solicitations I get daily from charities.  I think my record was nine in one day!  I feel like I owe my postman an apology.

They send piles of stuff.  They all send personalized mailing labels.  I get greeting cards, pens, coasters, calculators, world/US maps, reusable shopping bags, loose change, live checks for small amounts of money, and even a Dreamcatcher.  I looked up one organization that had sent me a particularly nice package.  They had a zero rating on a charity rating site.  You have to be trying to get a zero rating in order to get one.  In spite of their disclaimers about keeping donor information private, all of them clearly sell your address.  I've even gotten phone calls and I never put my phone number on anything I send.

Ahem.

Anyway, here's some nice pictures I got from a calendar.  (I didn't send them any money.)

Artifacts: Mesilla Valley Calendar Pics

The bank I work for produces a yearly calendar with pictures by the employees.  Here's a sample of pictures from here in Las Cruces, New Mexico and the Mesilla Valley.

Artifacts: Postcards from Colorado

Okay lastly, here's some cool cards from Colorado, including Santa's Workshop.  How cool is it to have a postcard postmarked from the "North Pole" (Colorado).  I've actually been there.  It's a bit of an odd place to be in the summer.  It probably isn't open during the winter.  (I can't even tell you.  I checked their website.  They're closed because of the cold.  It's even taken out Santa.)  I remember getting a Charlie Brown mug in the gift shop there, which I loved.  There was also a very tall candy cane slide there that didn't look that tall until you got to top.  The trip down was almost instantaneous.

Seven Falls is really nice.  At night, they light it up in different colors.

Artifacts: More Old Postcards

Here's another batch of postcards.  The first card here is from a well-known club in Reno.  It's no longer around, but the giant mural was preserved.

Here's a postcard to mom and dad from grandma and grandpa.  I'm not sure which set of grandparents sent it.

This card was from mom to her parents from New Mexico.  Yes, we do have plenty of trees here.  (Not a lot of grass though.)

Artifacts: Old Postcards

I was going through a box of things with my name on it that was at my parents' apartment and found a bunch of stuff to post.  Up first are some old postcards.

Here's a postcard from one of my grandmas.  Unfortunately, there's a sad recurring theme of wishing I was there to be with the relatives during the holidays and other times.  This is what happens when you move far away from where you're born.

Here's a postcard from a childhood friend who lived up the street from me.  He's rubbing it in here that he got to go to Disneyland, which I've still never been to.  On the other hand, he did sign it with love, so it wasn't too malicious.

Grandma and grandpa got around a bit travelling.  These just make me feel bad that I didn't write them more.
