Artifacts: Valentines Cards 2

This is a collage of four small cards.  These are all featuring Holly Hobbie from the 70's.  I love the prairie girl aesthetic.  Imagine my shock when I looked this up and found out that Holly is currently the star of a teen kid's show.  It's set in the present day, but in the country so her wardrobe isn't too far off.

The fencing boy here is wearing too much lipstick.

This is a card that doubles as novelty glasses.  It's from Mrs. Lamm, my preschool teacher.

This is a nice one from Grandma and Grandpa.

This one I gave to my grandparents.  They saved it and somehow it came back to me years later.

This was one I gave to Grandpa.  It still had it's envelope with it, along with a little bitty photograph.  I think that's Grandma holding me.

Artifacts: Valentines Cards 1

Here comes a bunch of hearts and a lot of red.  Next up are some Valentines cards.  This card was from a girl in grade school.  It came in an envelope.

Valentine rabbits seem like a theme here.  This one is cute.

Here's a card from a couple of aunts.  I didn't see them very much because they were far away.

Valentine cowboys.

I'm not sure who this was from, but she knew I was a Peanuts fan.

Artifacts: Birthday Cards 8

The first couple are from that comics page icon, Ziggy.

This one came from a girl I knew in high school that I liked.  Strangely, she has the same name as another girl I liked from when I was working at a community college, but it's not the same girl.  (I had to think twice on this one.  I actually got confused myself.)

Here's one with a ragamuffin newsgirl.  The back was glued down to the scrapbook and suffered a bit when I pulled it out.

I guess we finish this group of cards at the beginning with a first birthday card from Aunt Judy.  Again, it got a bit ripped from taking it out of the scrapbook.

Artifacts: Birthday Cards 7

This is a nice classy card.  My parents probably got it when I got into auto racing.

This one was from a childhood best friend.  He had good taste in cards.

Pretty painting here from Grandma.

This one comes with a bunny puppet.

This one is from work.  There are a few fake signatures that came with the card mixed in with my actual co-workers.

Artifacts: Birthday Cards 6

More birthday cards.

Here's another handmade note from my parents.  I'm sure they did a good job for my party.

Here's another cowboy card.  Are cowboys still greeting card theme for kids?

I'm not sure who the person was who gave me this, I was apparently two at the time, but it's a nice card.

Ouch, this one is from a girl I liked that lived lived in the same boarding house I did.  For her birthday, I got her a nice "silver" bracelet that turned green on her.  It was from a reputable place; it just disagreed with her skin ph.  Yeah, things didn't work out at all with her.
