Sketch Dump: The Pony Book 14

I was introduced to Japanese wrestler, Hana Kimura, on a tribute episode on Ring of Honor Wrestling.  This poor beautiful and talented girl had a promising wrestling career and was even on a reality show.  Unfortunately, she ran afoul of some cyberbullying fans of the show and took it too personally and then took her own life.  It's fairly tragic.  Also, there's a sketch of CBU basketball player, Georgia Dale.  I'd noticed her in a game against the Aggies.  She is from Australia.

Like the above one, I spent a bunch of time on this sketch of Hana, but it's not quite right.  I filled in a couple of little sketches with it.  These are Twitch streamers Alyssa Zhu and Julie the Apprentice.

The one on the left turned out okay.  These are still of Hana.  She changed her her color.

Here's one of K-pop singer, IU.  I liked the pencils too much to wreck it with my bad inking.

Lastly, here's a WWE wrestler, Alexa Bliss.  I liked her a lot, but then she went Goth and weird on the show.  There's also a couple of quickies from Crossgen's Meridian

Sketch Dump: The Pony Book 13

We've got a couple of actresses here for this post.  Up first is Michelle Tractenberg.  I had just watched EuroTrip at the time.  I make no apologies; it's a funny movie.

That one on the right turned out well.

Here we have Grace Kelly sketches from To Catch a Thief.  The first one is nice.

This isn't so good, but I wonder how I made the eyes so blue.

Lastly, that's Willa Holland next to Grace.  It's a terrible sketch of Willa.  I need to find another good picture and try again.  She was my favorite on the Arrow TV show.

Sketch Dump: The Pony Book 12

This is mostly drawings of Yara, Wonder Girl/Woman.  I just found out yesterday that the comic that I'd liked much has been cancelled.  Apparently, it was only a thing because they were planning on doing a CW show based on her.  With the network being sold, the show was cancelled, and then the comic.

That's a poor sketch of Yara on the left.  That's Sephie from Crossgen's Meridan on the right.

There's a much better sketch of Yara on the left.  On the right is K-Pop star, IU.  I saw her on a Mexican music video show.  How's that for international?

That's a decent (for me) figure drawing of Yara on the left.  The one on the right isn't so good, but I was shocked how well that horse head turned out.  I hadn't drawn one before.

There's a couple more of Yara and one of her friend, Portia, on the bottom right.  I think I drew the one on the left at my dad's apartment watching a game.  The one of Portia I definitely drew there.  I forgot to bring my ink pen.  I decided to just color it anyway.  It's okay, but I should have waited and inked it first.

This action shot of Yara I also did at dad's.  This time I remembered the ink pen and colors, but forgot to bring an eraser.  I couldn't easily find one at his apartment.  Somewhat doubting this one was worth the effort, I left it as is.  (That's what usually happens if I don't ink sketches immediately.  I lose my nerve to do it.)  I showed dad the Wonder Girl comics after I drew my sketches.  I seemed to like them.

Sketch Dump: The Pony Book 11

These are more images from Imagine Fx magazine.

This one turned out really well.

The one of the right is cute.

Here's some Ilya Kuvshinov Katniss drawings from the magazine.  The one on the left was a complete cluster-F.  I didn't realize how badly I'd screwed it up until after I'd inked and colored it.  I, shamefully, went to the white-out and unsuccessfully tried to fix it.

That's another Ilya drawing on the left.  The original was in black and white, so the poor color choices were my fault.  I like the Gibi drawing on the right, though the foreshortened index finger in the drawing looks more like another body part.

Sketch Dump: The Pony Book 10

Mostly more sketches from an issue of Imagine FX.  This first page also has a sketch on the right from comic, The Land That Time Forgot.  I like how that turned out.

And here's why I shouldn't be doing perspective drawings.  It's dynamic at least.

On the right is a sketch of a Katniss drawing by Ilya Kuvshinov.

I like this last page.  I had to shamefully do some white-out correction, but I like how the nude turned out.  I had fun with the rocker chick.  It was too rough to try and ink and color.

Sketch Dump: The Pony Book 9

These first three are sketches from paintings in Imagine FX.  I was trying to get the most out of my expense magazine purchase.

On the right is a sketch of Armor from the X-Men.  I remember showing the picture to someone and not remembering who the character was.  Right up until I photographed the sketchbook, I was debating whether I should have inked and colored it.

On the right is a figure drawing of Audrey Hepburn.  It's not too bad, though it doesn't look like her.

Sketch Dump: The Pony Book 8

A few more sketches of Twitch streamers.  I'm not obsessed!

That's Dizzykitten on the left, and chess streamer, Nemo on the right (Quyi is her name, I think).

The next two are are of Frivvy Fox (Lauren).  Here she's in a Ren Faire outfit.

And here she is doing some exercise video game.  (I hope that's not too specific for you.)

Here's a montage.  Going from the top from left to right, French news anchor, Melissa Theuriau (never seen the woman take a bad picture), Nemo (I shouldn't have tried drawing in the teeth), wrestler, Hana Kimura (more on her later), ASMR artist Gibi (wearing a short hair wig), and finally a sketch from Imaginefx.

I liked this Gibi sketch on the left so much, I didn't ruin it with my lousy inking and coloring.  Unfortunately, the lousy sketch of actress, Sophia Bush, sort of impinged on it.  Unlike Melissa, while I know Sophia is gorgeous, I can't find more than a couple of good pictures of her on the Internet.

Sketch Dump: The Pony Book 7

Another one of my favorite Twitch streamers is Frivvy Fox (Lauren).  She also does a Youtube ASMR channel.  I've found her very sketch-able and very distinctive looking (and beautiful).  Sometimes I do a lot better than others.

The one with the glasses is close to what she looks like.

That's her on the left, though it looks nothing like her.  That's a quick sketch of a model on the right.  I  kind of like that one.

The photo reference picture had more to it with Frivvy in glamorous evening wear.  This is close to her likeness.  The pencil sketch was so delicate, not only was I afraid to ink and color it, I didn't even go over the lines to darken them.

I messed up her face on this one, otherwise it might have been nice.  Next to Frivvy on the right is Quinn McKay, announcer and wrestler from Ring of Honor wrestling.  I didn't draw in her trademark glasses, because the face turned out so cute.

One more of Frivvy on the left.  It still doesn't look like her.  That's another Twitch streamer, Seum (Sam), on the right.  That one turned out cute.

Sketch Dump: The Pony Book 6

It's more of Twitch streamer, Dizzykitten.  These are one of my few original ideas for drawings.  I have a few Osprey military books and I had an inspiration to try putting Dizzy in some 1800's uniforms.  I'm thinking this was also inspired by the battle beneath the tree in The Nutcracker.

First is Dizzy in a Scottish Black Watch uniform.  Great idea, however all the proportions are screwed up on this.

Probably the best of the bunch and it was the last.  This is a Napoleonic artillery driver uniform.

More proportion problems.  Another French uniform.

This one wouldn't have been bad, but the face isn't great.  It's another French uniform.  Of course, I'm not showing her wearing the hats.  The sketch would go off the page.

Lastly, this is an English sailor's uniform.  It's not a Marine uniform, but in this case the naval troops operated Gatling guns in land campaigns.  The two pencil drawings are Sephie from Crossgen.  I didn't have any more Dizzy uniform ideas for the page.

Sketch Dump: The Pony Book 5

This post is mostly my favorite Twitch Streamer, Dizzykitten.  The first sketch here has another sketch of Audrey Hepburn.  There's a reason I don't usually draw teeth.  There's Dizzy next to her.

Here she is in a Ren Faire outfit.  I dithered over inking and coloring this one.  I probably should have made the dress lines heavier.

There she is in profile.  It turned out pretty good.  That's Arwyn from Crossgen's Sojourn in the top right and a model at the bottom.

This one would have been good, but I didn't notice until it was too late that the neck was too long.  Sometimes I wish I was drawing on a computer tablet, so I could fix stuff like that.  Below, that's Deren from Crossgen's Meridian
