Artifacts: Birthday Cards 5

Here's another sweet card from an aunt.  I was probably really young at the time.

A card from Aunt Judy.  This one is more recent.  Her dog, Tucker, also signed off on this one.

Here's one from Grandma and Grandpa.  They always missed me, since we were so geographically apart.

I finally noticed that the ragamuffin newsboy is a recurring theme on some of these cards.

I must have been pretty young when I got this one.  My artistic talents were not yet in bloom.

Honestly, these home-made cards are my favorites.  This one is so sweet.

Artifacts: Birthday Cards 4

More birthday cards.  The first up is a little note from the 70's.  I don't remember what gift it came with.

The head on this one flips up for the message in the mouth.

These next four cards are invitations to birthday parties.  The first one was mine.  I remember mom kept some of my birthday party stuff for a long time before it got thrown out before a move.  I was kind of glad to find one survivor of the purge.

Here's a couple of Jack-in-the-box themed cards.

Artifacts: Birthday Cards 3

More happy birthday cards.  This one has a little cutout on the front of the card for the "two."

This is a pretty one that's fairly recent.

Yes, this is an actual inflatable card.  It still holds air, but is missing a cap for the nose.

Aunt Judy sent me this colorful card apparently thinking I was about to retire.  I am NOT that old!

Even the envelope was pretty.

Artifacts: Birthday Cards 2

This unassuming card actually gets the prize for being the biggest one in the scrapbooks.  It's nearly the size of a regular sheet of paper.

The black cat on this card is covered in fuzzy black velvet.  It's fun to touch.

This one was from when I was working at a community college.  I liked this girl, but unfortunately she was engaged and about to get married when I met her.  Somehow, she knew I liked Peanuts.
