I know the Supply Department doesn't sound terribly exciting, but I think they're pretty interesting.
S-1 transports and accounts for the supplies.
Here are the cooks. Swallow this stat: 10,000 meals a day.
These guys serve and scrub the tubs, dishes, and utensils.
The Laundry Division. 16,000 lbs of laundry and 8,000 pieces of dry cleaning a month.
Payroll Division. For the sailors on board, this is probably the most important department.
These are the Officer's Mess guys. They also serve dignitaries, such as, on this cruise, four foreign presidents and the Japanese Imperial family.
There is a whole division just for aircraft parts.
