The Organ Mountains

Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico
Looking up from the Mesilla Valley, they don't seem real. If you saw them in Western film, you might think they were just a cheesy backdrop. They utterly dominate the landscape of Las Cruces. I doubt anyone here really takes them for granted as your eye immediately drawn to them from anywhere in town. Occasionally, Spring sandstorms will actually obscure the entire mountain range. Without them there, Las Cruces becomes the dreariest city imaginable, like Omaha or someplace else out in the Midwest (no offense).
